Peugeot wants (must at all costs) to reconnect with the French people, and this also involves a significant investment in the cinema sector. The Lion is a partner of the Cannes and Alpe d’Huez festivals, as well as the César ceremony. This is highlighted by an exhibition taking place until October 30 at the Peugeot Adventure Museum in Sochaux, dedicated to – guess what? – the seventh art.
Visitors rediscover models that have appeared on screen, from Columbo’s 403 convertible to the iconic 406 (from the Taxi series), not to mention models featured in memorable commercials, including the 106 (“Chérie, can I borrow your 106?” and 206, the latter prominently featured in the film “Le sculpteur”.
There is also a more immersive approach, focusing on films such as Subway, Les tontons flingueurs, or Minuit à Paris (non-exhaustive list) featuring Peugeot cars on screen. As for the Taxi saga, it has its own special space, allowing visitors to sit in a car for a photo.
This friendly way of reconnecting with the public is enhanced by the museum’s richness beyond this temporary event. The museum displays its wonders on an 8,000 m² area, showcasing around 130 vehicles, along with motorcycles, tools, and household items that are part of the Peugeot “myth”. All the elements of an exhibition that shines… even if the PureTech engine is notably absent, which could have played a leading role in a horror film!
