Pierre and Frédérique face new unexpected expenses after putting their house up for sale
“When it rains, it pours.” A few weeks ago, fans of “L’amour est dans le pré” were shocked to learn that Pierre and Frédérique had finally revealed what they had been hiding for a long time – their finances were in the red and the bailiffs were at the door. Observant subscribers of the iconic couple from season 7 had noticed that the lovebirds had been facing various troubles lately. Pierre had a worrying fainting spell during a family gathering of ADP, while Frédérique had been making frequent trips to the emergency room, between anxiety attacks and back problems. However, no one had considered that these health issues were not the cause of their troubles, but rather their consequence.
At the end of February, Pierre and Frédérique finally addressed the problem that had been plaguing their lives. The armagnac producer confessed to having made several strategic mistakes on his farm, which now had a heavy consequence – a debt estimated at 1.5 million euros. No miracles on the horizon for Pierre and Fred, as judicial reorganization had already been pronounced. Pressed against the wall, the parents of Gabriel decided, with heavy hearts, to sell their house and some of their belongings to pay off their debts.
However, their streak of misfortune did not stop there. In an Instagram story on Monday, April 27, Frédérique shared another unfortunate event. Their freezer door broke, causing the couple to lose a large portion of their provisions. Fearing the risk of food poisoning, Frédérique chose to discard the spoiled items. This wastage was an unwelcome addition to their list of troubles. This was not the first time the couple faced such an ordeal. After a power outage in the spring due to bad weather, they had to discard all the freezer contents then as well.
The string of bad luck continued with issues in their pick-up truck. The brake warning lights had illuminated, and the brake pedal remained stuck for a few minutes, as revealed by Gabriel’s mother. Frédérique, preferring to see the positive side of this new ordeal, expressed that the vehicle would eventually be repossessed this week due to unpaid leasing fees. She remarked that there would be no regrets as they had already invested 6,000 euros in repairs over eight years, money that they did not necessarily have but had to spend.
After much hesitation, Pierre and Fred made the decision to start fresh as a family and put their house, where they had shared many memories with their son, up for sale. The house, located in Castex d’Armagnac, was listed for sale by their real estate agent for 440,000 euros. This amount would help relieve them of some of the debts that had been suffocating them for several years now. Hopefully, this painful chapter will soon come to an end, leading to a happier one.
