Director Takashi Yamazaki is more satisfied with the upcoming film, “Godzilla Minus Zero,” than the first installment, promising an immersive experience that puts Japan in the spotlight.

Yamazaki expressed his excitement during an interview at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, emphasizing how this film will bring Godzilla closer to the audience than ever before. He highlighted the technological advancements in sound and special effects that will make the monster’s roars and thunderous footsteps resonate in cinemas like never before.

Set to release in the US in November, “Godzilla Minus Zero” stars Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe and is a sequel to “Minus One,” set in 1949. The story follows the Shikishima family as they navigate through happiness and tragedy.

Yamazaki sees this film as a transformative moment for the Godzilla saga, pushing him to new creative heights. He aims to deliver a visually stunning experience that surpasses anything seen in the previous installment.

In a surprising twist, the trailer for “Godzilla Minus Zero” features the iconic monster facing off against the Statue of Liberty in New York. However, Yamazaki assured that the film will highlight Japan much more than fans might expect.

Despite the rise of streaming services, Yamazaki firmly believes that Godzilla’s true home is in theaters, where the colossal creature can be fully appreciated on the big screen.
