The René Pont hall hosted the annual auditions of the music school, a highlight of the local cultural life.
No less than 30 young musicians, aged 6 to 18, took the stage to present the result of their work, in front of a captivated audience of about sixty people. The listeners were able to appreciate a wide variety of instruments: piano, accordion, violin, and even some vocal performances. Each student, in front of a jury, offered a personal interpretation of classical or modern pieces, demonstrating both technical and artistic sensitivity.
Eric Breton, deputy mayor in charge of culture and himself a musician, praised “the investment of the students and their teachers, as well as the importance of musical transmission for our region. These auditions are much more than a simple exam: it is a celebration of passion and collective work.”
His presence, alongside families and teachers, shows the attachment of the municipality to support the music school, a pillar of the cultural life in Quillan. The audience, made up of parents, friends, and music lovers, welcomed each performance warmly. “It is always moving to see these young people perform with such courage and talent,” said one spectator. The hearty applause and encouragement set the tone for the evening, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
