After their first album The Garden Suite, which explored musical horizons built around the Moog, the duo Nitai Hershkovits & Daniel Dor continues their unique exploration of soundscapes. While the Moog modular synthesizer (which marked the beginning of a new era for electronic instruments) remains central in their compositions, the album Found & Found introduces the clarinet and acoustic guitar. Blurring the boundaries between electronic and acoustic sounds, between rhythms and ambient-like sound layers, this second album offers a highly textured yet not dense sound, both rooted and airy. The music unfolds in subtle movements where melodies turn and slowly transform, creating a harmonic world that is both intimate and immersive.
Nitai Hershkovits studied classical music and jazz, adding explorations into contemporary music. He has played in numerous New York bands including Ari Hoenig’s group and pianist Oded Tzur’s quartet, as well as released solo albums such as Here Be Dragons and Isabela. His various projects include his solo piano Call on the Old Wise for ECM and his group Apifera, blending alternative jazz, post-rock, and psychedelia.
Drummer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Dor, known for his work with NOA, Billy Harper, Yotam Silberstein, and Chano Dominguez, has experimented with creating percussion mandalas. He holds a rhythmic approach showcased in his solo album Four Petals and art exhibition Four Petals In A Room, that also explores his fascination with rhythmic symmetry. As a speaker and clinician, he teaches his method.
Both have collaborated with bassist Avishai Cohen, sharing a passion for Hebrew and Arab-Andalusian music, and producer Rejoicer (Yuvi Havkin), a figure in the downtempo scene blending jazz and beat making, notably on the album This Is Reasonable.
The album Found and Found, set to be released on April 24, 2026 by Circus Company, has been selected by FIP for the entire month of May.
