D4vd charged with the murder of Celeste Rivas seven months after her body was discovered

Famous for his song Here With Me, rapper D4vd has been officially charged with the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Nathan Hochman, the district attorney of Los Angeles County, announced that the American artist, whose real name is David Burke, was charged with first-degree murder, lewd act upon a child under 14, and corpse mutilation in connection with the teenage girl’s murder. TMZ reports that the murder charges include aggravating circumstances – ambush, murder for financial gain, and murder of a witness in an investigation – which could result in the death penalty. However, the prosecution has not indicated if they will seek it. The rapper’s indictment comes days after his arrest by the Los Angeles police. Police chief Jim McDonnell stated that there were digital and forensic evidence linking D4vd to the crimes.

The attorneys of D4vd proclaim his innocence after his arrest

Shortly after D4vd’s arrest by the detectives of the criminal investigation unit, his lawyers issued a statement declaring that their client was innocent. “Let’s be clear: the concrete evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he is not responsible for her death”, the statement reads. David Burke was on a world tour when the teenage girl’s body was identified in a car registered in his name.
