After a long absence due to serious health issues, Céline Dion is preparing for her major comeback on stage next fall. And she has chosen Paris for her comeback that fans had almost given up hope on. They’ve been waiting for this for over six years. Their prayers have been answered and the Quebecois star will have a sort of residency at La Défense Arena: from September 12 to October 17, she will perform 16 concerts.

Céline Dion and Jean-Jacques Goldman, an eagerly awaited collaboration

The program is not yet known, but she will certainly perform her biggest hits in French and English. And some new songs? Yes, Céline will definitely bring some fresh blood to her show, with the support of Jean-Jacques Goldman. He is the one behind her greatest successes in the French language (1995’s “D’eux,” the highest-selling French album, and “S’il suffisait d’aimer,” released three years later) and has just “gifted” her with a brand new song: “Dansons.”

Unveiled on April 17, this single is a romantic ballad, composed by the French people’s favorite singer in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic: “The world stopped and people were dancing, confined to their homes,” he explained in a press release. “Six years later, no virus, but no need to change a word, the world is no more stable, and we still dance ‘above the abyss’.”

Céline Dion and Jean-Jacques Goldman receive…

But what do Céline Dion’s fans think of this song… which is anything but danceable despite the title? Let’s just say opinions are more than mixed. Disappointed fans? Quite a few. Some are blunt: “It’s seriously outdated this song…,” “Meh… Feels like the 90s,” “It’s depressing and not at all what we expected in 2026,” “Honestly, Céline, you come back to us with a lullaby, you’re pushing it,” “We expected something more inspired.” And this colleague, whose name we won’t disclose: “For me, it’s a song for Eurovision in 1998″…

Still, there are a few more enthusiastic people (but their comments are objectively drowned out by the negative reviews!): “What a sweetness to savor like candy,” “How good it feels to hear you, magnificent song,” “Chills + tears in the eye”… Hopefully, this doesn’t deter the lucky ticket holders for these concerts!
