The words that emerge speak about us things that we do not know about them. This quote from René Char sets the tone for the cultural evening that will take place this Friday, April 17, starting at 7 p.m. at the Palais Fesch.
This event, dedicated to poetic creation, is part of a unique partnership between the House of Poetry of Corsica, the Spring of Poets, the Ajaccio museum, and the Racines de Ciel association.
Several poets will be alongside soprano Muriel Batbie Castell
“Every year, we participate in the Spring of Poets,” explains Norbert Paganelli, president of the House of Poetry of Corsica. “The national director of this event, Linda Maria Baros, including the winner of the Guillaume Apollinaire prize (Editor’s note: the Goncourt prize for poetry), honors us by being present at this evening, which represents an important recognition in our eyes. Mychèle Leca, director of Racines de Ciel, also collaborates in this meeting, organized for the first time at the Fesch museum. Many other personalities have responded to this invitation, which will be an opportunity to showcase authors and texts, while promoting exchanges with the public.”
Several renowned authors, from here and elsewhere, will be present to read their poems and share their art. Among them, Gaëlle Fonlupt (Max Jacob Prize 2024), Alexandre Gouttard (Nouvelle Donne Prize 2025), Doria Pazzoni-Gavini (Casa di a Puisa Prize 2026), Carine Adolfini (medalist of the Académie des Jeux Floraux 2023), Alain di Meglio (Corsican Book Prize 2009), and François Viangalli, professor of law and poet.
Soprano Muriel Batbie Castell, a graduate of baroque singing at the Narbonne Conservatory, considered one of the most beautiful voices in Occitania, will provide a musical interlude. “This highly talented lyrical artist sets the insular poetry to music and sings it in an exceptional way,” adds Norbert Paganelli. “This is a unique artistic creation not to be missed!”
