Alexander Bublik is arguably the most challenging player to interview seriously on the circuit.
The Kazakh was in a press conference before Roland-Garros 2026 and journalists obviously brought up the topic: the spoon serve.
His response? A mix of honesty and irony, perfectly reflecting his personality.

“I use it when I feel like it. I don’t think it’s exceptional, and honestly, I think it’s being blown out of proportion.
For me, it’s not a tactical weapon. If someone really thinks it is, they probably don’t know much about tennis.
It’s simply a tool for entertainment. It helps lighten the atmosphere, make the audience laugh, and sometimes even give the point to my opponent.
Most of the time, I end up giving them the point, so I don’t really understand all the excitement about it.
