Emma Lunatti to compete in the first round of the Rowing World Cup
Emma Lunatti (Aviron Grenoblois) will be in Seville (Spain) next week. The 27-year-old Grenoble native has been selected for the French team to compete in the first round of the Rowing World Cup. She will race in a single scull.
Lunatti, who participated in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and will compete in Paris in 2024, decided to take it easy last season to recover both physically and mentally. A refreshing break. Returning late to fully start her season, Emma Lunatti tested several boats (quadruple scull at the European Championships, double scull at Lucerne World Cup, and World Championships).
This season, for her first with the French team jersey, she will be competing in a single scull in Spain. She is not the only Frenchwoman competing in this discipline, Léa Herscovici (Le Perreux-sur-Marne) is also in the competition in this category.
Affected by a virus this winter
This winter, Emma Lunatti faced challenges in her preparation, especially due to a virus that left her bedridden a few days before the French Short Boat Championships in Cazaubon (Gers). In April, she took part in the Piediluco international regatta in Italy. Competing in a single scull, she won a bronze medal over the two days of competition and set a personal record.
In Seville, the competition will begin on May 29 with temperatures expected to reach around 38°C.
