According to this comprehensive modernization plan, with the exception of the Queen Cable Car and Sun Hill amusement park (including the Ferris wheel, Japanese garden, indoor playground, and outdoor games), and Asia’s longest roller coaster, “Flying Dragon” (1.1 km), which will continue to operate normally, Dragon Park will cease to welcome visitors from June 10th and Typhoon Water Park will enter its transition phase starting from September 2026.

This transformation will give Sun World Ha Long a new look and a new stature, aiming to become a 24/7 open world-class entertainment complex, offering a model of an open park on the edge of the bay of wonders for all ages, with diverse experiences from a dynamic entertainment, dining, and services ecosystem available day and night.

The game “Flying Dragon Speed” is still ongoing.

Inspired by Clarke Quay – the iconic riverfront entertainment complex in Singapore – the all-new Sun World Ha Long complex includes a festival space, a lively shopping area, restaurants, outdoor bars, and pubs with stunning views of the bay of wonders, a music stage, and internationally renowned event spaces… Note that the entire festival space, as well as the shopping and dining areas, are designed with colorful and original awnings.

This allows recreational activities to take place throughout the four seasons, regardless of weather conditions, gradually eliminating the seasonality that was a major issue for a potentially rich destination like Quang Ninh.

The major asset of the new complex will be: Two artistic shows and firework displays, benefiting from international investments, will be regularly presented on the main stage of the new Sun World Ha Long park and on the adjacent Carnival of the Sun square. These events promise to attract a large audience, extend the length of stays, increase spending, and contribute to achieving the goal of developing the nighttime economy in Quang Ninh province.

Additionally, the complex is also designed with meticulous landscaping, including internal artificial canal systems, romantic bridges, artistic fountains, and vibrant flower beds that bloom all year round, creating a romantic space that meets the recreational needs of park residents while offering a relaxing tourist and entertainment experience to visitors from everywhere.

Dragon Park will be closed to visitors from June 10th.

Located on the shores of a natural bay classified as a world heritage site, and spanning over 214 hectares, Sun World Ha Long is a leading leisure complex in northern Vietnam. It offers three main attractions: Dragon Park, Cyclone Water Park, and the Queen Cable Car – Sun Hill. Since its opening in 2016, the complex welcomes millions of visitors every year, becoming a symbol of tourism in Quang Ninh and a must-visit tourist destination in northern Vietnam.

However, after more than ten years of operation, this model has gradually revealed its limits, due to the seasonality of tourism in Quang Ninh. The transformation of Sun World Ha Long is part of a comprehensive repositioning strategy aiming to create an international leisure complex open 24/7, enrich the experience of tourists visiting the historic site, lay the foundations for the development of the nighttime economy in Ha Long, respond to the trend of year-round tourism, and simultaneously enhance the competitiveness of tourism in Quang Ninh against other destinations with similar growth potential.
