Fleurance Harmony has formed a partnership with the InSax saxophone quartet from Costa Rica.
Between Fleurance and Costa Rica, music knows no bounds. Starting this Saturday until Sunday, May 31, Fleurance Harmony is embarking on an extraordinary artistic adventure by hosting the Costa Rican saxophone quartet InSax for an exceptional musical residency. A meeting centered on sharing, transmission, and a global outlook.
During the week, InSax musicians will enliven the Gers region with open rehearsals, concerts, activities, and interactions with the public.
Fleurance will become the heart of a living musical laboratory, where enthusiasts, residents, and young musicians can discover artists from across the Atlantic. Apart from concerts, there will be school visits, exchanges with residents, and social gatherings promising a human as well as artistic experience.
Lectoure and La Romieu will also be part of this cultural dynamic that extends the reach of music beyond performance venues.
Masterclass and Concert
The highlight of the week will be on Saturday, May 30, in Fleurance, with a masterclass followed by a concert event at 8:30 PM. This event is shaping up to be one of the cultural highlights of the spring in Gers.
But the adventure does not end there. Following this unprecedented partnership, the banda Los Pagayos will travel to Costa Rica from August 2 to 10 with 48 musicians.
The agenda includes musical activities, school and university visits, parades, cultural discoveries, and participation in an international banda competition. An exceptional immersion that reflects the project’s ambition: to make music a bridge between peoples.
The involvement of public and private partners is expected to facilitate this initiative led by volunteers.
Highlights of the Week
On Tuesday, May 26, Fleurance will feature activities at the market, school visits, and a public meeting. Wednesday, May 27, will see a concert at 8:00 PM in Lamagistère, Tarn-et-Garonne. Thursday, May 28, will host a concert at the Museum of the Americas in Auch at 6:30 PM. Saturday, May 30, will mark the culmination of the residency with a masterclass and an event concert for Mother’s Day at 8:30 PM in Fleurance.
