Donald Trump Jr., 48, is set to marry his fiancée Bettina Anderson in the Bahamas this weekend. This will be the second marriage for the Trump family’s son, following his divorce from Vanessa Trump in 2018, according to CNN.
The wedding comes amidst President Donald Trump’s efforts to strike a deal with Iran to end the conflict that erupted in late February. The American leader is also facing internal political pressures, with his popularity declining as citizens grapple with rising gasoline prices and cost of living.
“My son wants me to be there. It’s an intimate wedding, and I will do my best to attend. But I have to say that the timing is not ideal. I have the situation with Iran and many other things to manage,” Trump told reporters at the White House on May 21 when asked about his presence at his son’s wedding.
The American president acknowledged that he was well aware of the media’s reaction if he were to attend the wedding while the situation in the Middle East remained unresolved.
“Whether I go or not, the media spreading false information will criticize anyway. It’s the kind of situation where you are attacked no matter what. My son married someone I have known for a long time. I just hope they have a happy marriage,” he said.
Donald Trump Jr. currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and is a staunch supporter of his father’s MAGA agenda. He frequently appears at Mr. Trump’s side during political events, including his return to the White House after his stay at Mar-a-Lago earlier this month.
Last year, Donald Jr. hinted that he might run for the presidency “at some point.” As for Donald Trump, his second and final term will end in January 2029, and he has not publicly designated a political successor yet.
Donald Trump Jr. married Vanessa Trump in 2005 and had five children before their divorce. He then got engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle, whom President Trump appointed as the U.S. Ambassador to Greece in 2025 after their separation.
The American president’s son then began a relationship with Bettina Anderson, 39. The couple announced their engagement at a Christmas party in the White House in December 2025.
