Forget the red and blue spandex and teenage jokes at high school. This new Spider-Man is about to shake up all the codes of the superhero genre. On May 27, Prime Video will launch Spider-Noir, a series starring Nicolas Cage that promises to be ultra retro.

Loin des blockbusters colorés de Marvel, Spider-Noir plunges us into 1930s New York, right in the middle of the Great Depression. Nicolas Cage plays an aging, cynical, and slightly alcoholic private detective who must confront his city’s only superhero past. The atmosphere is heavy, sticky, directly inherited from the golden age Hollywood detective novels.
The daring monochrome bet
At a time when the audience is saturated with blockbuster full of digital special effects and green screens galore, this return to graphic purity is a rather bold gamble. In any case, it gives the series an immediate artistic touch. A real strategy to stand out in the streaming platforms catalog.
