Donald Trump, who has undertaken numerous projects at the White House, is now considering building a helipad there, as reported on Monday by the Wall Street Journal. This project, according to the economic daily, is a result of the introduction of a new model of helicopter for American presidents. The new, more powerful aircraft would indeed damage the southern lawn of the White House, from which Donald Trump takes off and lands when traveling outside of Washington, as specified by the Wall Street Journal.
Many Projects
A former real estate developer, the American president has launched several projects since returning to power that he closely supervises and frequently comments on. In addition to covering the walls of the Oval Office, previously rather modest, with a multitude of gildings, he had the lawn of the famous White House rose garden paved to transform it into an outdoor reception space reminiscent of his private property Mar-a-Lago (Florida).
Furthermore, Donald Trump is having a gigantic ballroom built, after ordering the demolition of a wing of the famous white building where American presidents reside. He more recently became passionate about renovating a huge pool next to the monument dedicated to Abraham Lincoln, an iconic location of the American capital. These various projects have raised questions about their funding and have been strongly criticized by the Democratic opposition. Donald Trump claims that his predecessors left the White House in a state of “shambles.”
