The actor Jang Dong Ju announces his retirement from the entertainment world

Jakarta – Actor Jang Dong Ju announced his withdrawal from the world of acting and entertainment that he has been involved in until now. Through his personal Instagram account, he shared this news while explaining the reasons to his fans.

“Starting today, I will withdraw as actor Jang Dong Ju. Even if I leave the stage, I will never forget the love you share,” said actor Jang Dong Ju on Friday, May 15.

He also stated, “I am truly grateful to the director, staff, and actors who believed in me and supported me even though I had flaws. Additionally, I thank the fans who are always with me, I can live happily because of this.”

Jang Dong Ju had revealed that he had been kidnapped and extorted for several days. The incident took place last summer.

“The callers know all my movements and my phone is hacked. From that day until today, there has not been a day when I did not feel like I was in hell,” explained Jang Dong Ju.

He explained that he had changed his number three times and had tried to escape, but all his efforts were in vain. He was also faced with a financial crisis until his family sold their house and his debt continued to increase.

“I lost the joy of family and when I realized, many people I loved were hurt because of me,” said Jang Dong Ju.

In 2025, the actor received attention after a post on Instagram. His agency admitted that they had not been able to contact Jang Dong Ju until they met and made sure that his condition had improved.

Jang Dong Ju is an actor born in October 1994 who has appeared in many Korean dramas and films. His name became known after the drama School 2017 and he became a model for the music video “Shoot Me” by the group DAY6.

This year, he appeared in the series “No Tail to Tell” with Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon.
