    Elie Semoun is at the Spaziu Culturale Carlu-Rocchi in Biguglia on May 15th with his new show “Cactus”, promising a more “spicy” and politically incorrect humor, from jihadists to disabled people, including racists, Dieudonné, and a whole sequence on religions. Goal: to laugh about everything.

    L’ÎLE-ROUSSE – Printmaking Festival

    From Monday, May 18th to Saturday, May 23rd, at the Spaziu Pasquale-Paoli, Printmaking Festival – Festa di incisione. The program includes exhibitions, conferences, and workshops like on Wednesday, May 20th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with engraving, with Alex Corkish at Casa Salvini. All artists will welcome visitors to their studio during the festival or by appointment: Hervé Quilichini and Toni Casalonga in Pigna, Hélène Erika in L’Île-Rousse, and Oddies Attellu in Urtaca.

    PIGNA – Performances at the auditorium

    On Friday, May 15th, CNCM Voce hosts the Transatlantic Hot Club in residence: a jazz swing quartet inspired by the 1930s with harp, violin, accordion, and double bass. On Tuesday, May 19th, concert by the group Shangri-La. The shows start at 6:30 pm.

    CORTE – Jean Paul Poletti and the Sartène Choir in concert

    Jean Paul Poletti and the Sartène Choir will be in concert on Thursday, May 21st at 6:30 pm, at the Church of the Annunciation. Composed of six singers with a very wide vocal range, the Sartène Choir is one of the emblematic groups of Corsica. A must-see.

    BASTIA – An evening with the slam pioneer from Chicago

    Una Volta, in partnership with ReZo, the Lektos festival, and the cinema Le Régent, organizes an evening dedicated to Marc Kelly Smith, a slam pioneer from Chicago, at the initiative of the poet and slammer Youn, member of the collective around Babel in Corsica. At 6 pm, at the cinema Le Régent, screening of the documentary “Histoire de dires” by Matthieu Chevallier and Yann François, on poetic speech, speaking, and shared listening, presented by Youn, co-director, and Marc Kelly Smith. At 7 pm, cinema-concert “Democracity”, an electro-dub-poetry showcase with Youn (text and voice), R1 (composition, music, video editing), and special guest Marc Kelly Smith, created from a mash-up of avant-garde American films from the 1930s-40s, followed by a meeting with Marc Kelly Smith.

    TALASANI- Bird watching

    As part of the Biodiversity Atlas of the Costa Verde, the Permanent Center for Environmental Initiatives “A Rinascita”, in partnership with the association A Pichjarina, offers this Saturday, May 16th starting at 9 am, a bird watching outing in Talasani. The outing will start from the Talasani annex town hall. Open to all and free.
