In the cinema this week, two very different destinies: Michael Jackson and Philippe Croizon.

Michael. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, starring Jaafar Jackson, Colman Domingo, and Nia Long. The story of Michael Jackson beyond music, from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the leader of the Jackson Five to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled an incessant quest to become the greatest artist in the world. Shedding light on his life offstage and his most iconic solo performances, the film offers the audience a front-row seat to discover Michael Jackson like never before. This is where his story begins. The doll. Directed by Sophie Beaulieu, starring Vincent Macaigne, Zoé Marchal, and Cécile de France. Rémi has never recovered from his last breakup. Since then, he has been in a relationship with a doll, it’s simpler. Her name is Audrey. The day Patricia, a new colleague, arrives at Rémi’s company, Audrey will mysteriously come to life. Thursday 14 at 8:30 pm and Sunday 17 at 6 pm.

The scammer. Directed by Wilfried Meance, starring Fadily Camara, Josiane Balasko, and Jean-Pascal Zadi. Fanny, 30 years old and pregnant, is tired of living with her father and Virgil, her partner who is a procrastination champion. So when she comes across a golden opportunity: an apartment “with parquet floors, moldings, and fireplaces” in viager in Paris, she jumps at it headfirst. But Masséna, the seller, is anything but dying. Determined to take control of her new life, Fanny engages in a ruthless war against the professional scammer. For the best. Directed by Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar, starring Pierre Rabine, Lilly-Fleur Pointeaux, and Sandrine Bonnaire. The incredible love story of Philippe Croizon, a man deprived of his four limbs, and Suzana, a woman who will give him the energy and the possibility to have dreams again, including the totally crazy one of crossing the English Channel by swimming. Tuesday 19 at 8:30 pm.
