La Momie Revealed on “Mask Singer” Show
For the new prime time of season 9 of Mask Singer, on Friday, May 8 on TF1, viewers were able to discover which personality was hiding under the Mummy costume.
Neck and neck with the Boar at the end of the evening, the Mummy was not saved by the public vote, after both candidates had to perform Florent Pagny’s “Ma liberté de penser.”
After several clues were revealed about this Mummy – the word “bande” in reference to its participation in the Enfoirés, or Sophie Marceau’s filmography in reference to the film “Pacific Palisades” whose theme it signed -, Welsh guitarist and singer Michael Jones was finally unmasked.
Now 74 years old, he is friends with Jean-Jacques Goldman, with whom he has collaborated musically. He notably co-wrote the lyrics of “Je te donne” in 1985, which became one of Goldman’s biggest hits.
A Mystery Investigator Disguised as a Potato
For the other revelation of the evening, we were able to discover Mr. Poulpe in the Potato costume. The comedian donned this disguise to perform François Valéry’s “Aimons-nous vivants.” After this single performance for him this season, he then joined the jury team as an exceptional mystery investigator.
It is worth noting that last week, disguised as a Hedgehog, singer Jason Derulo was unmasked, continuing the tradition of the show to offer an international star to its cast every season.
