The film is directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace The release is scheduled for September 11 in IMAX and theaters worldwide Available for streaming on Disney+ later this year PARIS, France (May 8, 2026) Disney, Magna Studios, and Sony Music Vision announce the release of a documentary dedicated to the legendary British band Oasis. Supported by Disney+, the film will be shown for a limited time in a selection of IMAX theaters and cinemas around the world starting on September 11, before being available exclusively on Disney+ internationally later this year.
This untitled documentary is conceived by Steven Knight (BAFTA and Oscar-nominated for “Peaky Blinders” and “A Thousand Blows”) and directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace (“SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS,” “MEET ME IN THE BATHROOM”).
The film follows Oasis’s reunion tour, “Live ’25,” one of the most anticipated comebacks in the rock scene in recent years. It provides an immersive look into this major music event of 2025, capturing both its scale and the emotions of the band and its fans worldwide. It offers unprecedented access behind the scenes, from rehearsals to the stage to the backstage, reuniting Noel and Liam Gallagher for the first time in over 25 years in joint interviews.
Alongside this worldwide sold-out tour, the documentary explores the cultural and emotional impact of this unique moment, as well as the enduring place their music holds in the hearts of multiple generations of fans.
Steven Knight said, “I’m eager for the audience to discover this film. I think it fully captures the spirit and emotion of a culturally significant moment on a global scale, paying tribute to the humor and genius of two extraordinary personalities. I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but also of the fans whose lives have been touched, and sometimes transformed, by the music. It’s also a story about the power of music and writing to bring generations, cultures, and countries together and, in a world sometimes marked by tensions and divisions, to give us a reason to hope.”
Eric Schrier, President of International Content, Direct-to-Consumer Programming and New Media, added, “Opportunities like this are extremely rare. This film offers an intimate view of reconciliation, the power of music, and Oasis, one of the most iconic and influential bands of all time. It is a true privilege to bring this exceptional film both to the big screen and to Disney+ subscribers worldwide.”
With never-before-seen footage and unprecedented access, the documentary is a Magna Studios production, presented by Sony Music Vision in association with Sony Music Entertainment UK. The production is led by Sam Bridger (LEWIS CAPALDI: HOW I’M FEELING NOW, MEET ME IN THE BATHROOM) and Guy Heeley (PEAKY BLINDERS: THE IMMORTAL).
Further information, including theater releases, will be announced soon. The film will premiere in a selection of IMAX theaters and cinemas worldwide on September 11, then exclusively on Disney+ internationally later in the year.
