The 80 dancers of Culture Images et Gestes (CIG) will present their work from the year this Friday and Saturday in Montreal.

As is the tradition at this time of year, Culture, images et gestes presents its contemporary dance show. The 2026 creation, the result of work undertaken since the last September return, is entitled “When I Grow Up.” The association presided over by Maëva Boisnault confirms its artistic commitment with a new collective work combining body expression and reflection on the journey of life. The 80 dancers (children, teenagers, and adults) will be on stage in Montreal, at the salle des halles (near the town hall), this Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9 at 8:30 pm. This annual event has been mobilizing volunteers for several weeks and attracts an increasingly large audience, curious to discover the original creations carried by passionate amateur artists.

Reservations on the internet Created by Jocya Ripiego, a jazz dance teacher, she describes her work as follows: “Growing up means going from childhood dreams to the reality of the world. Through each scene, the dancers explore the fears, struggles, and hopes that shape each of us. A sensitive and committed journey, where one learns little by little to accept oneself, to believe in oneself, and to find one’s place. Because “when I grow up”, it may just be about becoming oneself.” Reservations are open on the HelloAsso Culture, images et gestes website. An opportunity to support local creation while sharing an artistic moment accessible to all.
