The crisis is deep within the ranks of Real Madrid. In recent days, tensions have escalated to a serious incident in the locker room this Thursday, involving Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde. The Uruguayan midfielder was even taken to the hospital.
Tensions have risen dramatically in the past few hours at Real Madrid. With the Clasico set to take place on Sunday at the Camp Nou and potentially crown their arch-rivals, Barcelona, as champions of Spain, the club seems to be in chaos. According to reports by Marca, a violent incident occurred in the Madrid locker room on Thursday, during the day’s training session, involving Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde.
It all started the day before. On Wednesday, the Spanish press reported a heated altercation between the two players: during a training session, the Frenchman accidentally hit his teammate. Valverde took offense and wanted to retaliate. After the session, the two men argued in the locker room, although the altercation remained verbal.
Another incident occurred on Thursday. Valverde reportedly refused to shake hands with his teammate and then tripped Tchouaméni during training. Former player Alvaro Arbeloa tried to calm the situation by placing both men on the same team, but it did not work as the players continued to argue.
After the training session, a fight broke out between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde in the locker room. Other players intervened to separate them. Valverde fell, hit his head, and briefly lost consciousness. He was then taken to the hospital, reportedly with Arbeloa accompanying him.
The club, as well as the two players and their entourages, have chosen not to comment on the incident. However, the Real Madrid team plans to impose sanctions on both players as part of a disciplinary process.
