President of Reconquest!
During the first round of the French presidential election in 2022, Eric Zemmour (Reconquest!) gathered 7.07% of the votes cast.
Eric Zemmour is a former columnist for Le Figaro and CNews. His favorite themes are immigration and “the feminization of France.” Convicted in 2011 for inciting racial hatred, in 2018 for inciting religious hatred, he is again prosecuted in 2021 for calling unaccompanied minors “murderers” and “rapists.” In this latest case, the public prosecutor requested a fine of 10,000 euros.
Éric Zemmour (born August 31, 1958) is a French politician and polemicist. Since the end of 2021, Éric Zemmour has been a candidate in the 2022 presidential election. He worked as a journalist in the print media, such as for the “Quotidien de Paris” or “Le Figaro” from 1986 to 2021. Éric Zemmour is known for participating in programs such as “Ça se dispute” on I-Télé, “On n’est pas couché” on France 2, and “Zemmour et Naulleau” on Paris Premiere during his television career. From 2010 to 2016, he was also a columnist on RTL. From 2019 to 2021, he was the main columnist of the program “Face à l’info” on CNews.
He made his debut on the political scene in December 2021 as part of Reconquest, a party he founded. He has won the Incorrect Book Prize 2010, the Richelieu Prize 2011, and the Combourg Chateaubriand Prize 2015. He has written numerous books (including A Five-Year Term for Nothing, French Destiny, and France Has Not Said Its Last Word, published in 2021).
As for his personal life, he is currently in a relationship with Sarah Knafo. He was the partner of Mylène Chichportich (married from 1982 to 2021).
