On the agenda: discovery and testing of military equipment, presentation of operational units on the base as well as various training programs (including those provided by the training school for aircrew, known as EFPN, located on the base), participation in collective sports activities (such as tug of war), and exchanges with the Airmen. All these activities help to better understand the profession of arms and the values of the Air and Space Force.
Through this immersive day, these young people were able to understand that in the armed forces, “no one advances alone”: teamwork, collective effort, mutual support, self-transcendence… This event thus illustrated tangibly the commitment to the Nation, especially in the context of National Service.
The Crew
Under the theme of “the crew,” this day echoed the work of Joseph Kessel, writer, great reporter, prominent figure in the military and aeronautical world, and sponsor of the 2024 class of the Air and Space Academy. As he wrote: “They were a moral entity, a two-hearted cell.” A quote that still illustrates today the strength of a crew on every mission.
