Invited by the Vrai podcast hosted by Jesta Hillmann, Vincent Queijo opened up with sincerity about his breakup with Rym Renom. The ex of Marwa Merazka still speaks about a deeply felt wound, now more peaceful. Facing the microphone, the former contestant, who allegedly cheated, also discusses his ex-wife’s personality. In his view, Rym Renom remains primarily “a free bird,” difficult to contain for long.
Vincent Queijo talks about a breakup he had not anticipated to be so quick
In this new excerpt, Vincent Queijo reveals that their divorce did not come about by a simple choice. According to him, events pushed them towards this outcome. “We were a bit forced into all of this,” he explains first. Then, he elaborates on his perception of Rym Renom. He asserts that she always had a deep need for independence. “I like to say that Rym is a free bird,” he tenderly recounts. In his eyes, she could not be confined within too rigid a framework. He even states that she cannot live “in a cage,” trapped in a strict and enduring family pattern.
Vincent Queijo continues with a more nuanced look at their shared history. He specifies that he does not really know Rym today, except in her role as the mother of their children. Nevertheless, he maintains this analysis. “She is a free spirit,” he insists once more. When he married her, he sincerely believed in their future. However, an intuition lingered within him. He thought she would eventually leave. On the other hand, he did not anticipate a separation to happen so quickly. He envisioned a much more distant horizon, after 10, 15, or 20 years. Ultimately, the breakup occurred after only 5 years.
A painful separation, but a now peacefully viewed outlook
Before this new excerpt, Vincent Queijo had already mentioned the tensions surrounding the end of their relationship. Speaking to Jesta Hillmann, he did not hide anything about that turbulent period. “There was a war between Rym and me,” he confessed. He also talked about broader conflicts involving Marwa. Through these words, he illustrated how complex and burdensome the situation had become for everyone. However, he now declares that this storm belongs to the past. With hindsight, he believes that all parties have moved on. The tone seems more composed, far from the clashes that marked this high-profile breakup. Beyond the tensions, Vincent Queijo particularly described an intimate pain. In his family, divorce is extremely rare. “There is no divorce in my family,” he explained at the time. Therefore, this separation clashed with his personal values. He admitted to experiencing this stage as a difficult failure to accept. Furthermore, the presence of two young children strengthened his sense of guilt. He even referred to it as “the hardest trial” of his life. Now, his discourse appears more serene. “That’s life. It is what it is. Today, it’s cool,” he concludes with more perspective.
