From Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3, the La Locomotive cinema in Arzon is hosting a special edition of the Univerciné Festival. Normally held in Nantes, the event has moved for a weekend to celebrate European cinema through four screenings, each representing a highlight of the festival. The program includes an immersion into historical dramas and contemporary stories.

Kazakhstan, World War, Drama…

The opening on Friday night at 8:30 pm featuring “Hamnet” by Chloé Zhao, focuses on a couple facing a tragedy that inspires a universal work. On Saturday at 5:30 pm, “Abel,” a dive into post-Soviet Kazakhstan, will be shown. This film won the Jury and Audience Prize at the 2026 Univerciné Festival. Also on the same day at 8:30 pm, “Une enfance allemande” explores the last days of the war. Finally, on Sunday at 5:30 pm, catch the preview of “Cinque Secondi,” an Italian dramatic comedy about an unexpected confrontation.

The films will be screened in their original version with subtitles (VOST). Audience interactions and public voting will animate these three days, providing a moment of open and friendly cinema accessible to all audiences, whether they are film enthusiasts or simply curious.
