The phenomenal success of “Un p’tit truc en plus” and its 11 million admissions continue to make waves beyond our borders. As the French audience gets ready to reunite with Artus and his gang on the small screen, the film is now exported in the form of international adaptations. However, the original creator of the project seems to be the last to know. During a meeting organized by “AlloCiné” for the promotion of the television broadcast, Artus discovered that the German version was already completely finished.
“I’m finding out at the same time as you!” : Artus surprised by this remake
It was during a discussion with his producers that the comedian learned the news. “I’m finding out at the same time as you!”, he exclaimed. Directed by Marc Rothemund, this German feature film entitled “Das Gewisse Etwass” (The little something extra in French) is expected to be released in September 2026. This adaptation will be released on the occasion of the cinema festival in Germany and will succeed the original version that had already been dubbed by our German neighbors.
For Artus, this proliferation of remakes remains an astonishing concept. He had previously admitted that he didn’t necessarily consider his work “remakable” in the strict sense of the term. “There is no Arnaud down there, nor a Ludo. I made a film about them, I wrote according to them”, he explained to “AlloCiné”. Despite his personal doubts about the exercise of remakes, the international machine is well and truly launched and seems to be running at full speed.
Can Artus’s story seduce the entire planet?
Germany is just the first step in this global conquest as other countries have already expressed interest in the story. Filming is set to begin soon in Spain while the American adaptation project is still in the works. In the United States, the original version has just been released in 200 theaters under Sony’s aegis. This expansion proves that Artus’s message of tolerance and humor has a universal appeal capable of attracting all global markets.
While waiting to see how foreign filmmakers will interpret this story, French fans can rejoice in rediscovering the original work starting tomorrow evening on M6. The evening will be completed the following week by a never-before-seen documentary that will immerse viewers in the behind-the-scenes of this extraordinary human adventure. Between box office records and success on the Cannes red carpet, “Un p’tit truc en plus” is not done making headlines.
