At just 21 years old, Jeanne Cruéghe, originally from Cantal, won the international Mille Trophy along with her teammate Théo Breil. The competition is dedicated to high-level students from professional high schools, and the final took place in late March in Reims, where the French duo emerged victorious against teams from Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Japan.
Jeanne Cruéghe started her journey in the service industry in Aurillac at the “Café de France.” While studying, she worked at a caterer during weekends and holidays, which led her to discover her passion. After earning a scientific baccalaureate, she decided to pursue a BTS in Hospitality Management at the Chamalières high school.
Encouraged by her teachers, Jeanne entered professional competitions. In 2025, she successfully participated in the Malongo competition focused on the world of coffee. This experience boosted her confidence and solidified her interest in restaurant service, bartending, and precision.
The Mille Trophy, named after the Michelin-starred chef Philippe Mille, presented a new challenge. Jeanne and Théo, a sommelier, formed a complementary duo and advanced to the international final after a national selection process. The competition, conducted in English, included tasks such as table setting, carving a guinea fowl, cheese cutting, and flaming crepes.
Despite initial fears, Jeanne impressed the jury with her precise and coherent service. Looking ahead, she aims to gain more experience through internships in prestigious establishments and eventually hopes to run her own establishment, possibly back in Cantal where it all began. Jeanne’s ultimate goal is to aim for the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France, but she acknowledges the need for further experience before pursuing this prestigious competition.
