Christophe Maé is a fulfilled husband and father
Christophe Maé is a fulfilled husband and father. On August 16, 2013, the singer became the father of a little Marcel, the result of his love with the dancer Nadège Sarron, with whom he has been living for over twenty years. Together, the couple welcomed their first child in March 2008: a boy named Jules. Five years later, the performer of “Il est où le bonheur” and his wife welcomed another little Marcel. Immersed in music since infancy, the singer’s sons are indeed fans of their father, but not only… “They like my songs, they don’t have a choice anyway (laughs), but they listen to hip-hop, they are big fans of Jul. For them, the stars are the rappers and the footballers. Limit, for them, I’m old, I make old people’s songs,” he joked in an interview with La Provence in January 2021.
During an interview on TF1’s show “50′ Inside” with Nikos Aliagas, the former star of the musical comedy Le Roi Soleil made tender confessions about the woman he has shared his life with for many years. “My wife is everything. She is everything to me. She helped me carry my speakers when I finished my sets in piano bars. I had been doing piano bars for ten years. And she said to me: ‘Come on, let’s go!’ It wasn’t an apartment, it was 11 square meters, a maid’s room with shared toilets on the landing. But we were the happiest. We were already the happiest. We went through all our struggles. She’s my partner. We cry, we laugh,” he explained, still nostalgic.
Christophe Maé, father of two children: why is he struggling with the departure of his son, Jules?
This Monday, March 20, Christophe Maé released his seventh album titled “Fête foraine”. A new album much more intimate in which the singer addresses themes that touch him, particularly his family. In the columns of the Journal du Dimanche, the 50-year-old singer explains that he is about to experience a major upheaval in his life: the departure of his son. Now 18 years old, his son Jules is preparing to leave the family nest to spread his wings. In a few months, the young man will leave France to study abroad. “I see my 18-year-old son who is about to leave to study abroad. It’s tough,” he said.
A turning point in life that seems to particularly move the performer of the song “On s’attache”, very close to his two children. An attentive father, Christophe Maé confesses to fearing the void his child will leave once he is gone. This departure resonates even more strongly for him as he has always found inspiration in the moments shared with his family. “That’s why I talk so much about them in this album. Because my refuge is my family,” he admits without hesitation.
Christophe Maé: what was the incident that occurred in Le Roi Soleil that could have cost him his life?
On March 24, Christophe Maé was a guest on Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine’s show “C à vous” to promote his latest album. On this occasion, the singer made some revelations about the musical comedy “Le Roi Soleil” which revealed him to the public, recounting that one evening, during a performance, a whole bridge detached from the stage and fell, barely touching and making a hole in the parquet floor, he recalls.
Shaken, the singer recounted that he did not immediately realize the seriousness of the situation at the time: “Honestly, I didn’t realize it at the time and then I kept singing. But it’s true that we were close to a tragedy,” admits the husband of Nadège Sarron. Fortunately, the singer came out unscathed.
