For the respect of international law in the Middle East, a 131st gathering in Millau

The Collectif Palestine Sud-Aveyron gathered at Mandarous Square to protest against the strikes in Lebanon and Palestine.

They have been organizing this gathering for two and a half years. With Palestinian and Lebanese flags raised and banners displayed, like every Saturday morning since October 7, 2023, the Collectif Palestine Sud-Aveyron brought together about twenty people on April 18 at Mandarous Square in Millau to demand “the end of the genocide in Gaza and respect for international law in Palestine and Lebanon.”

Protesting against the actions of the Israeli army

As Elisabeth Lepetitcolin, a member of the Collectif Palestine Sud-Aveyron, points out, “the first occupation is to convey the voice of Palestinians, Lebanese, and all peoples who suffer from conflicts.”

This 131st rally is particularly linked to the latest humanitarian flotilla for Gaza, which left Marseille on April 4 and is set to join other aid ships from Spain, Greece, and Turkey. “For decades, boats have set sail to remind of international law. But Israel flouts it by appropriating international waters through acts of piracy off the coast of Port-Said, in Egypt,” denounces Andre Pascal, an emergency physician who had visited the European hospital in Khan Younis in 2024.

The activist has already announced that if the Israeli army intervenes again to stop this flotilla, gatherings will take place every day in Millau to protest against “the actions of the Netanyahu government and to say stop to impunity.”
