Six Competitors from Basse-Normandie Kyokushin Team Shine at International Karate Tournament in Belgium
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, six competitors from the Basse-Normandie Kyokushin Team (Bayeux dojo) participated in the International Open of Belgium Kyokushin Karate, held in Charleroi.
“Our competitors bravely represented the colors of France and Normandy with courage and pride,” said Franck Peretel, the instructor of Basse-Normandie Team. Shihan Franck Peretel (5th dan) and his students are currently in intensive training for the upcoming world championship in Tokyo in 2027.
Along with the six competitors from Bayeux dojo, Sempai Charly Lecerf from the Saint-Vigor-le-Grand Dojo served as an official referee at the tournament in Charleroi. The competitors faced opponents from Belgium, Germany, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Romania, Finland, Austria, Turkey, and France at the event.
Franck Peretel commended the performances of his team and expressed gratitude to IKO Belgium for the warm hospitality and smooth organization of the tournament.
Results:
- Emil Lewicki: 5th place in Junior Kata 10/11 years.
- Olivier Lewicki: 2nd place in Junior Boys Kumite (+50 kg).
- Clément Le Goubé: 10th place in Men’s Junior/Senior Kata (16/34 years).
- Léa Grégoire: 8th place in Women’s Junior/Senior Kata (16/34 years).
- Damien Boyer: 2nd place in Men’s Veterans Kumite (35 years and + / -85 kg).
- Franck Peretel: 3rd place in Veterans Kata (35 years and +).
