In the standings, RC Lens is just one point behind the leader PSG, who has a game in hand. The Gones move up to 3rd place, ahead of Lille, Rennes, and Marseille.
Brest made an impressive 0-3 victory at Meineau against Strasbourg, who had their minds on the upcoming Coupe de France semifinal against Nice on Wednesday. They are now almost out of the running for European places, trailing Marseille in 6th place by 9 points. Nice managed to secure a point against Lille (0-0) while Marseille suffered a defeat against Lorient (2-0).
Nothing changes in the relegation zone
From 12th to 17th place, all the teams (Brest, Angers, Le Havre, Nice, Auxerre, and Nantes) drew their matches, which does not alter the relegation battle. However, bottom-placed Metz, who lost at home to Paris FC (1-3), are on the brink of relegation to Ligue 2.
