Meghan Markle, whose full name is Rachel Meghan Markle, was born on August 4, 1981 in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland, an African American mother and a father of Irish and Dutch descent.
Meghan attended Immaculate Heart High School, a Catholic school in Los Angeles, and later earned a degree in theater and international relations from Northwestern University. She then pursued a career as an actress, appearing in television shows like “Suits” and films such as “Remember Me”.
In addition to her acting career, Meghan is known for her charitable work. She has collaborated with organizations like World Vision Canada and UN Women, and was appointed a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in 2016.
In November 2017, Meghan announced her engagement to Prince Harry, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II. They married in May 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The couple has since welcomed two children, Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana.
After her marriage, Meghan became the Duchess of Sussex and focused on issues such as gender equality and women’s rights. However, in January 2020, she and Harry announced their decision to step back from their royal duties and pursue financial independence.
