The sale of a life jacket worn by a passenger on the Titanic has set a new record, fetching over $900,000 at auction. The historic flotation device belonged to Laura Mabel Francatelli, a first-class passenger on the ill-fated ship. The jacket, signed by Francatelli and other survivors, was sold by Henry Aldridge & Son in England. Additionally, a seat cushion from a Titanic lifeboat was also auctioned for 390,000 pounds. The auctioneer expressed that the high prices indicate the enduring interest in the Titanic tragedy. The RMS Titanic sank in 1912 after colliding with an iceberg, resulting in the loss of about 1,500 lives.
