Draguignan: New Urban Farm Focuses on Micropousses

Politics – In Draguignan, a vertical and eco

A new urban farm has been created in the heart of Draguignan.

This vertical urban farm dedicated to the cultivation of micropousses has just been established under the brand QSF – Quest for Taste and Freshness. Located in the city center, this local production is intended for restaurants, caterers, and AMAPs (Association for the Maintenance of Peasant Agriculture).

Micropousses are the small tender shoots of vegetables or herbs that are harvested just a few days after germination. They are distinguished by their high nutritional density and particularly intense flavors, which explains their increasing use by chefs and food professionals.

The farm operates using a vertical growing system, where the micropousses are cultivated vertically on multiple levels in a controlled environment.

This method is part of an eco-responsible approach: the crops are grown without pesticides or fertilizers, only with light and water.

The production of micropousses is still very limited in the Var region, with only a few identified producers.

In the French Riviera, there are about ten producers.

Nationally, this market is still emerging, with a few hundred specialized producers in France.

For comparison, North America has a much more developed market with several thousand producers.
