Conference League: the handsome sum that Strasbourg will receive after qualifying for the semi

Qualified for the semi-finals of the UEFA Conference League, Racing Club de Strasbourg is set to receive no less than €14 million according to Football Meets Data. A nice figure that could increase even more if the Alsacians manage to reach the final, or even win it.

A nice little check. Thursday night, Racing Club de Strasbourg secured a historic qualification for the semi-finals of the UEFA Conference League by overturning Mainz (4-0) in the second leg after losing the first leg 2-0 in Germany last week. But beyond the immense joy in sports, this qualification is also a financial windfall for the club owned by the BlueCo consortium since 2023.

€285 million in funding for clubs

Thanks to their presence in the semi-finals, the Alsatian club has already pocketed €14 million for their European Cup run, as reported by Football Meets Data. This calculation takes into account the UEFA coefficient of RCSA as well as the participation fees for the qualifying rounds.

Good news for Strasbourg in this period where national TV rights don’t bring in much. Last season, Chelsea, the winner of this European Cup and also owned by the same consortium as the Alsatian club, received €21 million. For this fourth edition of the Conference League, UEFA has a funding envelope of €285 million for clubs.

The €14 million received by Strasbourg could therefore increase by a few million if Gary O’Neil’s players manage to eliminate Rayo Vallecano in the semi-finals (first leg on April 30, second leg on May 7) to reach the final, scheduled for May 27 in Leipzig, or even if they were to secure the second European title for a French club in two seasons after PSG’s in the Champions League.
