For the first time in its history, Racing Club de Strasbourg will play a European semi-final, in the Conference League, against the Spanish team Rayo Vallecano.
They did it! Thanks to their overwhelming victory over Mainz (4-0) in the quarter-final second leg of the Conference League on Thursday night, Racing Club de Strasbourg qualified for the first time in their history for the semi-finals of a European Cup, despite their defeat (0-2) in the first leg, in Germany.
In the last four of the Conference League, the Alsace team will face Rayo Vallecano, who eliminated the Greeks of AEK Athens and are currently 13th in La Liga. Not an easy match, but Strasbourg has a chance, especially with the advantage of playing the return leg at La Meinau.
This promises a great evening for the Strasbourg fans at the return leg, but before that, there will be an away match in Spain. Both matches will take place on two consecutive Thursdays, at the end of April and beginning of May, on Canal+. The match will also be available to watch live on Le Figaro.
The schedule for the semi-finals:
First leg: Rayo Vallecano vs. Strasbourg on Thursday, April 30, at 9 pm, at Stade de Vallecas
Second leg: Strasbourg vs. Rayo Vallecano on Thursday, May 7, at 9 pm, at La Meinau
