Important Meeting of Saudi, Pakistani, Egyptian, and Turkish Diplomats

Ministers from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt are set to hold talks this week in southern Turkey to discuss the situation in the region, according to a ministry source.

“It is the third meeting between these four countries to discuss regional affairs, not specifically about the Strait of Hormuz,” the source, who wished to remain anonymous, specified.

Hezbollah Claims 13 Attacks on Israel

Hezbollah claimed simultaneous attacks on 13 locations in northern Israel shortly after the start of direct talks between Israel and Lebanon in Washington, perceived as a “historic opportunity” by the U.S. Secretary of State.

The pro-Iranian group indicated in a statement that its fighters had “attacked Kiryat Shmona, Metula, Misgav Am, Kfar Giladi, Manara, Margaliot, Kfar Blum, Malkiya, Tel Hai, Dishon, Liman, Saar, and Nahariya with simultaneous rocket salvos.”

Rubio Hails Historic Opportunity for Lasting Peace

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called for seizing a “historic opportunity” for lasting peace in Lebanon at the start of the first direct talks between Israel and Lebanon in decades.

“It’s an historic opportunity. We are aware that we must face decades of history and complexities that have led us to this unique moment and the potential that lies before us,” Rubio said in a meeting with Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors.

President of Lebanon Hopes for an End to Suffering

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun expressed hope that talks with Israel in Washington mark “the beginning of the end of the suffering of the Lebanese people,” following weeks of war between Israel and Hezbollah.
