The Job building’s performance hall in the Sept-Deniers district of Toulouse hosted the fund disbursement ceremony for the charitable race “La Jeannette”. The 2025 edition raised 74,740 euros, which were distributed equally between the Gustave-Roussy Institute and the IUCT Oncopole Toulouse.

Organized by the 7 Anim’association, “La Jeannette” pays tribute to Jeanne, a young girl who passed away at the age of nine from a brain tumor. The event involves over 100 volunteers each year for organization, entertainment, and participant safety.

“A solidarity race at the heart of the neighborhood”

“The race has grown, but we aim to keep it at the heart of the neighborhood,” says Marion, a volunteer from 7 Anim’s. The courses cater to all ages, ensuring everyone feels involved. This year, participation expanded to over 1,500.

Since its inception, “La Jeannette” has raised nearly 207,000 euros to support research and treatments for children with cancer. Pediatric cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death in children, making these local initiatives even more vital. Each year in France, around 2,500 children and adolescents are diagnosed, with over 500 succumbing to the disease. One in 440 children is at risk of developing cancer before the age of 15.

“Our goal is simple: to help researchers progress so that more children can recover,” explains Marion. The funds raised are exclusively dedicated to research, and every year, the beneficiary institutes witness the impact of this local mobilization.

This edition will be remembered as a powerful moment of solidarity and engagement for the neighborhood.
