The interpreters of the single “Creep” are furious. In a video broadcasted on social media, the American immigration police (ICE) used a piece from the British rock band Radiohead. The artists strongly condemned this use and demanded the removal of the video.

A choral version of “Let Down”, from the legendary album “Ok Computer” (1997), serves as the soundtrack to this video published on February 18 on ICE’s social media. The video shows photos of citizens who were violated and killed by those who have no right to our territory, according to ICE. “It is for them that we fight. This is our reason for being,” the immigration police wrote.

“This song means a lot to us” A spokesperson for Radiohead stated that the use of the song was done “without the group’s authorization.” “We demand that the administrators of ICE’s social media account delete it. This is not funny, this song means a lot to us and to others, and you cannot appropriate it without a fight,” declared the rock band in a statement, ending with: “And then, go fuck yourselves.”

The immigration police have also faced the anger of the band’s fans. “How dare you use Radiohead? Their music goes directly against organizations like ICE. Remove it, you do not have permission to use their music,” wrote an internet user on Instagram in response to ICE’s post. “How dare you appropriate Radiohead for your evil mission?” added another user.

This is not the first time ICE has drawn the ire of artists. In December, the song “Juno” by Sabrina Carpenter was used in a video promoting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) where ICE agents interrogate and handcuff individuals. “It is a cruel, disgusting video. Do not involve me or my music in your inhumane agenda ever again,” reacted the singer. Previously, singer Olivia Rodrigo had also condemned the use of her song “All-American Bitch” by the immigration police.
