One of the most talked-about series of February 2026 is generating buzz every week as a new episode is unveiled.

Airing on Disney+, “Love Story: JFK Jr. & Carolyn Bessette” revisits the tragic love story between the son of John F. Kennedy, JFK Jr., and Carolyn Bessette, which captivated tabloids worldwide in the 90s until their sudden death in a plane crash in July 1999.

“Grotesque”

Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of the 35th president of the United States and nephew of JFK Jr., had previously expressed his opposition to this project once it was announced. Amid his campaign for Congress, he once again spoke out about the series in an interview on CBS Sunday Morning, aired on March 1, 2026.

He specifically criticized the famous showrunner behind the fiction inspired by real events: “If you want to know someone who has never met a member of my family, who knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy. This guy doesn’t know anything and is making as much money as possible by grotesquely portraying someone else’s life.”

“His parents depicted in the series”

In the series, his mother, Caroline Kennedy, sister of JFK Jr., is portrayed by Grace Gummer, Meryl Streep’s daughter, and his father, Edwin Schlossberg, is portrayed by Ben Shenkman. The daughter of Jackie Kennedy and John F. Kennedy has not commented on the matter.

Still on CBS Sunday Morning, Jack Schlossberg expressed disappointment that Ryan Murphy does not financially support the causes championed by his uncle during his lifetime: “I hoped that Mr. Murphy would donate some of his millions of profits to some of the causes John championed throughout his life. He could have given some to the JFK library to perpetuate the memory of President Kennedy, but he doesn’t. He only thinks about making a profit. This is not a documentary.”
