The new Marseille coach expressed “great satisfaction” after his team’s last-minute victory over Lyon (3-2) on Sunday.

Habib Beye, the new OM coach, spoke of “great satisfaction” and a “fantastic scenario” after his team’s last-minute victory over Lyon (3-2).

“It’s a great satisfaction for my players, who have put in a lot of effort this week. We knew it would be a very big match, we know Olympique duels are always very intense,” Beye explained.

“The scenario is fantastic for our fans and for all those who love OM. It comes down to details, a bit of luck. But there is also a logic of belief, luck can be provoked,” he added.

“It was a good team on the other side, a good coach. They were good, we were too at times. It’s more about the scenario to remember. We are very happy, it’s a beautiful victory. I am satisfied for the club, for Frank McCourt and Medhi Benatia who trusted me,” Beye further stated.

“To know Marseille well, I think people will go to work tomorrow with a smile,” he added.

“But it’s an endless cycle. We must enjoy this moment but in three days, there is another very important goal for the club,” he concluded, referring to the Coupe de France quarter-final against Toulouse scheduled for Wednesday.
