TikTok launches new feature ‘TikTok GO’ for booking local services

From viral dance challenges to must-try recipes and even shopping, TikTok is no longer just a social media app offering short entertainment videos.
Now, the tech company is venturing into the travel world with the launch of “TikTok GO,” a new integrated feature that allows users to book local services, including hotels, attractions, and tours, directly from the platform.
Integrated into the discovery tools on TikTok, from video content to search results to location pages, this feature builds on partnerships with major travel platforms like Booking.com, Expedia, Viator, GetYourGuide, Tiqets, and Trip.com.
Initially launched in the United States, where the app boasts 200 million users, this development confirms TikTok’s growing role as one of the most popular platforms globally for travel inspiration. The company specifies that users must be at least 18 years old to book an experience via TikTok GO.
“Every day on TikTok, millions of people discover where to eat, stay, and what to do next,” explains Adam Presser, General Manager of TikTok USDS Joint Venture. “TikTok GO directly connects this inspirational moment with the businesses behind it, benefiting creators, local businesses, and communities.”
For the tourism sector, this launch reflects a deep evolution in booking habits. Platforms aim to minimize the gap between discovery and purchase as young travelers increasingly rely on social media to plan their trips.
The new feature is also expected to help tourism players reach new audiences, generate bookings, and strengthen ties with the communities they serve.
Mark van der Linden, VP of Partnerships at Booking.com, believes that collaborating with TikTok will turn those “I wish I were there” moments into “actual travel days.” He adds, “By integrating Booking.com directly into the TikTok journey, travelers can seamlessly go from discovering a dream accommodation in a video to booking their stay in just a few clicks, transforming inspiration into unforgettable experiences more than ever.”
Experiences have become the primary reason people travel, “no longer an afterthought”, notes Johannes Reck, co-founder and CEO of GetYourGuide. This launch marks “a major shift in how travel experiences are booked via TikTok GO, allowing travelers to go directly from discovery to a smooth reservation.”
For creators, TikTok GO turns travel narratives into revenue sources. Those featuring hotels, attractions, and local experiences can now directly link their content to bookable offers, opening access to earnings through commission and paid campaigns within the app.
