Since April 23, elected officials from the Region have been meeting residents. Monday, Guillaume de Almeida Chaves was on the market.
After a first edition deemed conclusive in 2025, Carole Delga launched the new citizen tour “The Region at your side” on April 20. This tour will also mark the tenth anniversary of the Occitanie region.
More than three hundred trips
Until July, regional elected officials, agents and members of the regional youth council will travel across the thirteen departments of Occitanie to meet residents. For the President of the Region, “it is essential to maintain an honest, respectful and spontaneous dialogue with citizens. With this new edition, the regional majority intends to continue and amplify the dynamic initiated for a stronger, more united Occitanie, attentive to the quality of life and focused on the future.” She also recalled that “despite budgetary constraints, Occitanie remains the French region which invests the most for its inhabitants”.
Constructive exchanges
Last Monday, Guillaume de Almeida Cheves was present on the Bessières market. He met with traders and residents to discuss their vision of the Region, their expectations and their priorities to improve the daily lives of those who live in Occitania. “The discussions were very constructive,” he told us. “This made it possible to better identify priorities, to explain the actions of the Region already carried out in these areas and to adapt our policy in order to better meet expectations.”
The regional advisor thus recalled the creation of health centers and the recruitment of doctors (two hundred to date) in order to allow everyone to easily access a quality care offer.
“We know that this is one of the priorities for the inhabitants of the region who are also attached to supporting farmers, job creation and mobility.
Problems to which we respond, among other things, by helping entrepreneurs, free transport for young people or one-euro train tickets.”
