Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon on Wednesday, mainly by drones and aviation, have resulted in at least 28 deaths across several regions of the country, according to reports from our correspondent Mountasser Abdallah and the Ministry of Health.

Israeli army drones targeted roads in South Lebanon, bombing cars all the way to the coast of Chouf where three shots on as many vehicles caused eight deaths, including two children, as reported by our correspondent and the Ministry of Health. Three consecutive bombings took place in the morning on the coastal region south of Beirut. The first targeted a car in Jiyeh, on the busy highway connecting Saida to the capital near the Jadra intersection. The vehicle, a van loaded with food products, caught fire and a passenger was killed. The second attacked a 4X4 carrying four people, while the fourth hit a car on a secondary road at the entrance of Saadiyate.

Further south, a drone conducted a targeted raid on a utility van in Saaida, near the city’s stadium, killing a father and injuring his son. In the evening, the Amal movement, Hezbollah’s ally, announced the death of Mohammed Hassan Nazzal in the Israeli strike. A car traveling on the main road of Naqoura, in Tyr district, near the Relax hotel, was hit and at least one person was injured, according to our correspondent. Naqoura is located under the “blue line,” marking the “buffer zone” that Israel has de facto established along its border in Lebanese territory, where it prevents any access. Two other cars were bombed by drones in Chahtoul and Maaliye, in the Tyr district.

An Israeli drone struck the Qalaa neighborhood in Harouf, Nabatiye district. This drone strike killed one person and injured another, according to our correspondent. These series of raids resulted in at least 13 deaths, with eight, including two children, killed on the southern coast of Beirut, as per the Ministry of Health.

Nine villages in South Lebanon under threat of strikes, at least 15 deaths

Airstrikes continued across the country as the Israeli army ordered the evacuation of six entire villages in Tyr district – Maachouk, Yanouh, Bourj el-Chemali, Haloussiye el-Faouqa, Debaal, and Abbassiye – in the morning, and later, three more localities in the afternoon – Kfarhata (Saida), Arabsalim, and Deir el-Zahrani (Nabatiye).

After these threats, the municipality of Abbassiye urged its residents to evacuate immediately to the temporary shelter center located in the village’s high school, cooperating with authorities to facilitate the evacuation process. Dozens of families left their homes following the Israeli evacuation order, seeking refuge in shelters in Tyr and Abbassiye, moving to open areas away from their homes and villages or gathering on the corniche in Tyr or Saaida, as reported by our correspondent. In the evening, Israeli aviation bombed several houses in the heart of Abbassiye (Tyr district), notably the Ali Zein building with multiple floors in the Saouad neighborhood, where at least two deaths and four minor injuries were reported.

Israeli army conducted several bombings on Kfarhata (Saida), targeted twice. Other strikes were reported without prior warning on Haddatha, Aitat el-Jabal, and Tebnine (Bint Jbeil district), as well as on Jarjouh, Rihane (Jezzine), Haloussiye, and Zebqine (Tyr).

Israeli aviation also targeted the villages of Zawtar al-Charqiyeh, Roumine, and a house in Mejdel Selem (Marjeyoun). A strike in Arab al-Jal reportedly caused casualties. Nabatiye al-Faouqa and Zefta were also targeted.

In Arabsalim (Nabatiye district), a strike killed at least seven people. According to our correspondent, it hit a three-story building housing multiple families from the same clan, including women and children.

Furthermore, four people died in a strike in Nmairiye (Nabatiye), including two sisters, Mariam and Amina Hachem, while another person was injured. In another attack on Roumine, three people were killed, identified as Nader Adel Makki and his two children, Ali and Karim.

Since dawn, the Israeli army carried out several attacks on Nabatiye district.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Israeli forces in South Lebanon in the past hours, particularly in Bint Jbeil district at Wadi Ouyoun, Srebbine, and Rchaf. They also mentioned launching a kamikaze drone on a bulldozer at Khallet el-Raj, near Deir Seriane. The Israeli army had announced their crossing of the Litani River towards the North in that area.

The Israeli army, on the other hand, reported several attacks against its soldiers in South Lebanon this morning, with no casualties, according to messages shared on X.
