For the first time, the artistic journey of the cultural project of the territory welcomes a unique event: Tasiurta, a film-concert where documentary cinema and music interact live, Saturday, May 16.
Carried by the artist Colibri (Jérôme Rotier) and the director Julien Granet, this daring project plunges the audience into the universe of the Inuit communities of Nunavik, in northern Quebec.
An open door to an unknown culture Tasiurta, which means “let’s give each other a hand” in Inuktitut, is much more than a film. Through the eyes of young people like Nanuq, Alouattah, or Kangirsuk, the documentary opens a door to an unknown culture.
The soundtrack, composed by Colibri, comes to life on stage thanks to three musicians who perform live the score, synchronized with the projection.
This film-concert is part of the 2025-2026 programming of the Cultural Journey of the territory, entitled “Crossed Perspectives.”
The evening will open with an original creation by the students of the Computer-assisted music class of the Sud Retz Atlantique Music School (EMSRA), the event’s partner. Under the direction of their teacher David Rigaud, they will share with the public the result of their annual work.
Saturday, May 16, at 7 p.m., Elie-Cantin hall, Paulx.
