A Sunday evening house fire in Johnston destroyed a home on Ridgedale Court, though a woman inside escaped safely after nearby golfers spotted the flames and warned her.Johnston firefighters were called to the home at 7:33 p.m. Crews arrived to find heavy flames coming through the roof, with the fire fully involved, officials said.Investigators said the fire began on the back side of the house while a woman was still inside. Officials said crews were able to keep the flames from reaching neighboring houses.The home was declared a total loss.Fire investigators remained on scene Sunday night and are expected to continue investigating to determine what caused the fire.
