Police say a motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a B.C. crash near the Surrey-Delta border Saturday afternoon left a motorcycle dangling from a traffic light above a busy intersection.
Delta police say officers were called just before 3 p.m. PT to the 7100-block of Scott Road at 72nd Avenue and 120th Street for a crash between a motorcycle and car.
Police say the rider suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and the driver of the sedan was not injured.
Photos and videos circulating online show the motorcycle suspended above the roadway from an overhead traffic signal pole following the crash.Â

The unusual scene drew crowds of onlookers with many pulling out their phones as emergency crews tried to bring the bike down.
“Never seen anything like this, like seeing a movie,” said Surrey resident William Chan, who said he came across the crash while heading to Krispy Kreme, the donut shop nearby.
Chan said after spotting a damaged car in the middle of the intersection, he began looking for the other vehicle involved in the crash.
“I was looking down and then I looked up and the [motorbike] was above — kind of crazy,” he said.

Chan said he was stunned by how the motorcycle appeared to become tangled around the traffic signal and said he planned to stick around to watch crews remove it.
“Just to see how people are getting it down.… Going to be quite interesting,†he said.
Another observer, Jevon Ryan, said he can’t begin to understand how the motorcycle ended up above the intersection.
“You’d think it would launch to the sidewalks, to the businesses but to perfectly get up there and wrap itself around.… It’s wow,†he added.
The crash closed Scott Road between 70th Avenue and 72nd Avenue, according to the police, as crews work to remove the car and bike and clear debris from the roadway.
