The fourth Artistic Encounters at the Dominicans begin this Wednesday, May 13 around a unifying theme: borders. For two weeks, sixteen artists will present paintings, sculptures, engravings, photographs, and ceramics in a collective exhibition designed as a dialogue between the works.

Geographical borders, borders of reality, invisible, natural, porous borders, borders between materials… The theme is at the heart of the fourth Artistic Encounters at the Dominicans starting this Wednesday, May 13. Ceramics, engravings, paintings, photography, sculptures, no less than sixteen visual artists present works that harmonize, respond, and resonate for an exhibition open to the public for two weeks.

Among these creators is artist and designer Didier Crémieux, originally from Clermont-l’Hérault, now living in the United States since 1977 but still deeply connected to the heart of Hérault. He is one of the initiators of these Artistic Encounters which are “meetings among friends who have an artistic practice. It’s a quite variable collective from one year to another,” according to Sophie Rozier from Villeneuve who will showcase her engravings. “It’s fascinating to confront these diverse arts in a very vast space that brings together sixteen artists,” she appreciates.

A collective work of highlighting will be set up. In October 2025, the previous edition was focused on the theme of preservation. “We had already created a scenography to harmonize all the installations. There is more control than in the previous editions, visitors noticed and appreciated this collective presentation work. Over the years, we refine this approach.” The new edition should therefore continue in this positive dynamic. The opening is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, at 7 pm and a musical evening is planned on Friday, May 15, at 8 pm, with the Nô group.
