The students of the defense class at Gaston-Bachelard school in Bar-sur-Aube went to meet the soldiers deployed on Exercise Orion 2026, at the camp of their sponsor unit, the 61st Artillery Regiment based in Semoutiers. The students had the opportunity to witness the installation of a floating bridge to facilitate the passage of numerous armored vehicles engaged in a major exercise of the army, in open terrain and in contact with the population. A great experience alongside the military delegation from the Haute Marne department and the 7th Armored Brigade.
Orion is a military exercise during which the French forces face high-intensity combat. It takes place from February 8 to April 30, and, due to its scale, aims to lead a major commitment, act within a coalition framework, and mobilize the State, allies, and the population in the service of national resilience.
